The main restriction with this project was the access to site. During the mezzanine installs, the driveways weren’t completed and by coincidence, the constant rainy weather at the time caused the thoroughfares to become mushy and wet. This meant we had to implement all terrain forklifts to aid the install crews.

A custom designed and built Mezzanine – AWS was able to maximise the above and below clearance by optimising the design and minimising the floor thickness. We opted for a swing gate instead of a sliding gate to meet the customers needs.

In order to increase the floor area of their existing unit, we worked closely with our clients to engineer a solution that would maximise their existing ground floor area while adding much needed mezzanine area above. AWS was able to structurally engineer a solution that would free span the area, negating the need for columns within the ground floor area. Safety was important for our client, so we opted to incorporate our up and over safety gate to ensure safe loading of stock to the mezzanine floor.

Working at a major transport hub like Melbourne Airport comes with a labyrinth of regulations and restrictions. The team had to navigate stringent airport security protocols and work within limited operational hours to avoid disrupting other work and flight schedules. Every member had to undergo certification to ensure they understood and adhered to the airport’s strict safety and operational guidelines. Meeting these challenges required a deep understanding of Australia’s airport regulatory framework and close adherence to WorkSafe Victoria’s guidelines. The success of the project hinged on balancing efficiency with strict compliance to these standards.

We were able to quickly install a structural steel mezzanine for ConnectAbility in Newcastle. The floor went on to be fitted out with offices.

Beiersdorf quickly found a suitable “short-term” warehouse for its operations; however, the existing Dexion pallet racking system did not suit its storage and order-picking requirements. Therefore, Beiersdorf set out to source market opinions on best-fit pallet racking solutions. AWS was invited to tender, and it was successful. AWS is now working with Beiersdorf to complete a full mezzanine and office fit-out to house several office staff members, as the existing short-term premises office cannot accommodate existing Beiersdorf office staff.

Waterlogic in Marrickville, Sydney was quickly able to expand their storage space in their current warehouse premises with our structural raised storage area.
